September 2, 2016 School Notice

September 2, 2016

Dear Johnson House Families,

We have had a wonderful start to the new school year. The students are excited to be back and ready to learn. We know this will be a great year!

Our arrival and dismissal have been going very smoothly! Thank you to all the families that have sent in their child’s dismissal plans already. Completed dismissal plans are due back by Tuesday, September 6th.

The Stratford Partnership of Youth and Families has paired with Stratford Public Schools in an effort to increase the positive internal and external assets (traits) that our children need to in order to have more positive life outcomes. On Friday, September 9th we will be greeting EVERY student at Johnson and giving them a HELLO sticker as they enter the building. We want all students to feel included and welcome as we focus on positive school climate.

PLEASE BE ADVISED…Students dismissing at the front of Johnson House are WALKERS ONLY. Any student being picked up by car must be met in our car line at the back of the building. This car line goes very quickly and is the safest choice for those picking up by car.  Cars should NEVER pull up and stop/park on Birdseye Street. This is blocking our buses and causing safety concerns. Thank you for your cooperation.

We have noticed a few students wearing watches that have wonderful capabilities such as videotaping/ recording and allowing students to make phone calls. We appreciate that families would like to stay in touch at certain points during the day, however, these devices will need to stay locked in lockers just as cell phones are.

Thank you again for a great start to the school year.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Mrs. DiDomenico and Mrs. McNeil
