About the Fitness Test

 

All 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th graders are required by the state of Connecticut to take the Physical Fitness Test.

 

The test is conducted in Fall, approximately 5-7 weeks into the school year.

 

The Parts of the Test

 

There are 4 parts of the Physical Fitness Test. 

 P.A.C.E.R.- to test cardiovascular endurance

Curl-ups- to test abdominal strength

Push-ups- to test upper body strength

Sit and Reach- to test flexibility of the lower back and hamstrings

Below you can find the standards for the test, based on gender and age. 

I=Needs Improvement

F= Fitness Zone

H=High Fitness Zone
